Why are people so terrified or bothered that a person has original creative ideas, hobbies or unique interests?

Faced with that same situation, I was lucky in that I found a side hustle that taught me the basics of selling, then I began to see the benefit of knowing business sense. It took a long bit of time before my self taught skills as a business person paid off. My answer to the above is having students who enroll in find art programs that want to sell their stuff get into classes in the same art college that are geared towards creating graduates that can understand the basics of keeping a new business afloat until the money starts rolling in. Those classes should be a fundamental necessity instead of non-existent. That would go a very long way in helping the new artist survive. Thank you for asking me.

James Cameron? THE James Cameron? Maybe not. Anyway, I have not met these people who are terrified that someone is having original creative thoughts. However, I have come across hundreds of parents that are terrified that their precious boy or girl wants to be an artist when they grow up. As we all know, becoming an artist means that we have little or no financial sense and that we won’t be able to keep a relationship beyond the “Hey Mom, I got Lucy pregnant, what do I do now??” phase. We will starve on occasion and probably be somewhat slow in finding our own place and moving out of the basement. We take for granted that any serious situation will mean that our parents will be overjoyed to bail us out. And last but certainly not least, the money to bail us out probably ends up in a drug lord’s pocket.

And if you are in fact the real movie maker Cameron, I want a sequel to Alita.

How does growing up in chaos affect a child as they become an adult?

Unfortunately, there are plenty of real examples of this happening. And there is a systemic problem that almost dooms the newly minted artist upon graduating. The simple fact is, if you want to earn a living selling your paintings, you are starting a small business. Anyone want to chime in here with the stats of small business survival, now’s your chance. The artists go through four years of intense art instruction, only to be cast out with no education in small business. In deed, the idea that you will be selling yourself is a hot item for people who demand Pure and Untainted Artists with no Commercial Moneymaking, who believe that the artist who makes a living from art is crass and has sold their soul. That’s pure bullsh*t right there.
